We received a request to switch sets for Cal Cup #2; we are now planning to use SITH II for Competitive and Standard. Like CALISTO, this is a medium-difficulty, house-written high school set. We are still using the same set for Novice.
The current Cal Cup #2 field can be found here – please double check that your teams are listed correctly. We currently have a large waitlist for all three divisions – please let us know if you are able to provide moderators/scorekeepers so that we can try to expand the field. Waitlist teams should monitor the field periodically as the situation tends to change quickly.
(2) Tuesday, February 11 is the last date to register for Cal Cup #2. All teams, including waitlist teams, must submit this Cal Cup #2 roster submission form by the end of Tuesday, February 11. We want to make sure that teams are making progress confirming their rosters sooner, rather than later. Teams that do not submit a roster by that time will be dropped from the field and may not be able to re-join. A reminder that each team can consist of no more than six members.
Teams can drop before 12pm (noon) Pacific time on Friday, February 14 without penalty – please email us ASAP if you need to drop a team.
(3) A reminder that Cal Cup #3 will take place on Saturday, March 15 at Saint Francis HS in Mountain View. We plan to use VAULT for Competitive, SHOW-M3 for Standard, and RQBCo Novice for Novice. These are house-written sets (not NAQT); Competitive teams should be aware that their questions will be a bit more difficult than a regular-difficulty high school set. Registration will open soon after the conclusion of Cal Cup #2.
